New Member Application - 2006
Please review the following information prior to submitting your application.
Due to size constraints, membership is limited and we stress that it is most important that you introduce yourself to BTT members at events, training activities and races. The season is not over and we welcome anyone interested to join us for training and social activities. This is the best way for us to get to know you and you to get to know what the Boston Triathlon Team is all about. There are many triathlon teams and clubs in the area and it is to everyone’s benefit to determine where they might best feel comfortable.
For more information on activities please register for our Mailing List and visit Team Workouts and Social Events on this site. We are always interested in meeting fellow triathletes, and one of our goals is to keep the fun in the sport as well as the competition!
Our members come from all walks of life - from seasoned athletes, ironmen, first-timers, to specialists who concentrate on one sport and help our team excel in that area. All are committed to a healthy lifestyle and having fun.
Where Do You Train?
BTT offers several training options - group rides and runs take place throughout the year and really ramp up in the spring. Contact any one of our training coordinators for upcoming events. Many of our athletes participate in the Masters Swimming programs throughout the area. For more information on Masters swim programs, go to the New England Masters Swimming website.
Do You Do More Than Swim, Bike, Run?
The social aspect of Boston Triathlon Team is also something that keeps members coming back. We like to train, but we also like to have fun. Weekly or monthly social gatherings around the Boston area bring our members together, as do events during and after races and training.
What Is Expected Of Members?
We ask that all team members join in by taking part in training events, social outings and races throughout the year. BTT has a minimum race/volunteer requirement for maintaining active membership. Members are expected to participate in at least 3 events throughout the year. Participation can be as an individual racer, as a relay team member, or as a volunteer.
Over the past few years, we have continued to increase the number of members at local races and we would like to continue that trend. We also encourage members to explore what they find to be the most beneficial events both nationally and internationally, and to participate in other activities such as road races, open water swims, adventure races and charity events.
Please contact Jen Scalise-Marinofsky, our membership coordinator for more information.
